Come grow with me… How to grow kiwi plants from seed
I enjoy propagating plants and wanted to share another of my successes with you. It really is simple to grow many plants for free, and I would like to share some of the approaches that I have used, so that you can learn from my experiences.
Here are my simple steps for growing a kiwi plant from seed using the seeds from a kiwi fruit that I purchased in a supermarket.
1. Separate some seeds from a kiwi fruit that you have purchased at the supermarket. There are a lot of seeds in a kiwi fruit so you won’t need them all.
2. Rinse the seeds to remove as much of the excess fruit as possible. I placed them in a small pot that I stirred with my finger – it was as easy as that.
3. Place the seeds on a damp paper towel.
4. Place the paper towel in a clear plastic bag.
5. Leave the plastic bag in a bright spot to let the seeds germinate.
6. Little shoots will appear and these can then be placed in small pots to let them establish.
7. Water the pots regularly but be careful not to over water them.

I am not expecting mine to produce edible fruits but as the UK is getting warmer, and it can take 4-5 years for the plant to mature and grow fruit, you never know what will happen…
